Tay, Findlay
...and little Hamish

"Tay, Findlay and Hamish are all rescue dogs living in the North East of Scotland - Aberdeenshire, to be precise.

Tay is a 5 year old black Lab / Pointer cross and has been with the family since he was 7 months old. He came with a number of problems, the most prominent of which was his aggressive domination, which was directed toward both people and other dogs.

Four years of love and patience has seen a rewarding transformation. He goes beating / picking up on a regular basis and is a really happy fella. Tay came from Mrs Murray's Home for Dogs in Aberdeen.

Findlay is a pure bred Springer Spaniel. He came to us at 12 weeks old from B.A.R.R.K. in Banff. Full of life (and mischief), his only problem seemed to be a quite marked limp involving his left hind leg. B.A.R.R.K. had been told by the vet that there was no obvious reason for the limp and consequently nothing could be done. Notwithstanding, we decided to offer him a home.

After a couple of hours at home and a romp with Tay in the garden, his limp disappeared and has never returned. Findlay also goes beating regularly and both he and Tay attend a weekly Gun Dog Group, which they enjoy immensely.

The newest addition to the family is Hamish. He's also from B.A.R.R.K. and came to us at 12 weeks. He's a Jack Russell / Collie cross. His sire, (the collie,) was, it appears, on holiday and managed to extend his itinerary to include a romantic interlude with Hamish's mother. We were able to see Hamish with his mother and his seven litter mates. He's settled in remarkably well after just three weeks and is already sitting on command, coming to his name and to the whistle and is not far off walking to heel.

He sleeps with Tay and Findlay but has a cage just now. This is to give the other two a little space. Hamish was all over them for the first week, so night time, plus an hour or so during the day in his cage gives them all breathing space. His cage is now left open during the day and he regularly goes into it by choice. After another couple of days, the cage-door will be left open at night too. The picture shows all three of them enjoying their nightly bit of luxury."
